1. Changing Your Mindset
In the same way working out never becomes a habit if you never go to the gym or maintain the mindset that your couch is so comfy, you need to start a challenge like this with the right mindset that you CAN DO IT. Jon emphasized the importance of shifting your mindset to focus on daily tasks, what can be achieved, and taking accountability.
2. Leaders Gonna Lead
Change often happens from the top down. Jon spoke to the importance of leaders demonstrating the path to success and inspiring their teams to embrace change by embracing it themselves. Leaders need to show their vulnerability to change to create a culture of accountability and commitment.
3. The Power of the Public Declaration
Speaking of accountability, this was one of the most impactful strategies Jon covered in the webinar. By publicly declaring your goals and commitment to the #30DayListingChallenge (or anything), you hold yourself accountable and manifest aspirations into reality. This practice instills a sense of determination to take consistent action toward reaching your objectives. As Jon said, “Public declaration equals manifestation.”
4. The Go-to-Board Exercise
Jon introduced the powerful Go-to-Board Exercise, which Fello CEO Ryan Young had just recently completed with The Young Team. Taking the public declaration one step further, you publicly declare your goals and the steps you’re going to take to get there. Put it on a whiteboard for everyone to see. Put it on social media. This exercise further drives accountability, as well as focus and clarity so you can identify the key habits and skills that will get you to the finish line.
5. Take a Moment to Reflect
In the midst of all the motivation and accountability, Jon highlighted the importance of reflection to drive business success. Simply, look at how you’re doing. Analyze past performance to look for areas for growth, and areas where you don’t need to spend as much time. Reflection allows you to improve outcomes and become more efficient with your time, effort, and money.
